The lantern, also known as the wishing lamp, is an ancient Han nationality handicraft that was primarily used for military purposes in ancient times. However, in modern times, it has been predominantly used as a symbol of blessings and wishes. People of all ages and genders write their blessings and wishes on these lanterns, which represent harvest and success, as well as happiness throughout the year. Generally, these lanterns are released during major festivals such as the Lantern Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The origin of the lantern is legendary and is attributed to Zhuge Liang during the Three Kingdoms period. Legend has it that when Zhuge Liang was trapped in Pingyang and unable to send troops out of the city for help, he used the lantern to send distress signals in the right direction. Thanks to this ingenious plan, he was able to escape and subsequently, the lantern came to be known as the Kong Ming light. Another explanation for the name is that the lantern resembles Zhuge Liang's hat, which is how it got its name.

As I am going to leave this junior high school I would like to leave a few thoughts of mine regarding the textbooks, teachers and English teaching of this school.
The textbooks I think are in general very useful and detailed, and I thoroughly enjoyed using them in aiding my understanding of English. However, more exercises would be better so I can have more pratice. As for the teachers and English teaching of this school, they are all of supreme quality, supportive, and the curriculum is very all-rounded, hence I believe i benefited greatly.
